In trying to troubleshoot my Synology prior to buying the fire stick I thought that my NAS was the issue - now I realize it’s actually the Apple TV 4K version one and two that is. While I don’t like the user interface Plex works perfectly with my Synology NAS. I’ve given up on playing Plex through my Apple TV 4K and I’ve moved to an Amazon fire stick 4K max. I have a 64 bit five Bay Nas they were perfectly with the original Apple TV boxes until 4K and it would transcode any media file without issue prior to ATV 4K– I have both a AtV 4K 1st and 2nd generation unit. I get video lagging, buffering & error just saying my processor speed isn’t fast enough and sometimes even not all my videos show up on the Plex app. try it but in my case, it doesn't work.Ever since I’ve upgraded to the 4K Apple TV the Plex app works horribly.
It may not be playable correctly in your tv.
If mediainfo has only this: HDR format : Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.05.06, BL+RPU look in the "mediainfo" for: HDR format : Dolby Vision, Version 1.0, dvhe.07.06, BL+EL+RPU, Blu-ray compatible / SMPTE ST 2086, HDR10 compatible You can find bluray rip versions with this duality easy. This page helped me SO MUCH, take a look: With Google Chromecast (google TV) i can play all but only supports Dolby Audio, no DTS. This kind of file is perfectly playable in plex, but if your TV does not support DV, automatically changes to HDR, so you have a movie.mkv with that versatility mkv with all I want, audio, video and also chapters and poster of the movie (included in the Bluray) The best i tried and looks AMAZING is rip the bluray with MakeMKV Not just MKV DV, look for DV dual layer, FEL or MEL (full enhancement layer, minimun enhancement layer)
With MKV files you have to look for DV videos but HDR10 compatible, like that. With Plex I can play exactly like Just (Video) Player but here is the thing: Just (Video) Player app can play MP4 and MKV VLC does not support any kind of DV Kodi plays MP4 but no MKV and only gives me audio in 2 CH, no 5.1 or above. I can play DV with the multimedia player (build in) but only MP4, if I try MKV, it plays but the color is just green and pink.
