The speed that CINEMA 4D can manipulate and render animations is one of its strongest points. Please note: Maxon App 2023.1.x is not compatible with non-unified RLM. It's designed for professionals in film making, TV, advertising, science, architecture and other fields that require professional results. I was a Lightwaver for over 15 years, but changed over to Cinema 4D a few years ago seeing this development ahead and because LW in the last years was increasingly suffering from weak Mac support (especially concering plugins).It should be noted from the start that CINEMA 4D is a highly technical and professional package that isn't suitable for those new to 3D animation or modeling. The plugin developer (great guy!) created this as a sort of perpetuous legacy version for the remaining LW community using Octane.
As it seems, it is not to be developed any further by it's new scandinavian owner company. Unfortunately, LW is going to miss any future support for Octane.
For what I can see, the current EOL tribute build is Windows only. Fully compatible with Mac OS X Snow Leopard (10.6) and Windows 7. I guess your new Mac Studio is running Monterey or Ventura, so this version will not run on this MacOS. Cinema 4D is a 3D software suite developed by the German company Maxon. Not much point in coming here anymore, is there?Ī bit of research on this forum is showing that the latest released version for LW on Macs was PR11, which is only running up to MacOS version Big Sur and Cinema release 26/S26.
